September 7, Duck Camp Warm Up at Max McGraw

This unique, one-of-a-kind workshop is designed to help handlers and dogs prepare for the upcoming hunting season. The safari-style workshop has handlers working on eight different waterfowl simulations. Dogs and handlers will be divided into two groups to ensure ample retrieving opportunities and time with the trainers to work on any issues that might arise.  Drills will include multiple retrieving scenarios in water with live birds, on land, in wooded areas, out of layout blinds, and flooded corn.  Dogs will be retrieving from dog hides, MoMarsh stands, pop-up blinds, and sunken blinds.  Each drill will be adjusted to the dog's skill level. Two dogs and two handlers will work together for each drill, one being the “go” dog and the other being the “honor” dog.
